    About This Item

    • King Starlite is King Starboard ® that is extruded with a blowing agent added
    • It is a lighter weight, less expensive material that is equally water and weather resistant
    • Major tradeoff is a cellular edge that is extremely difficult to clean when dirty.
    • Environmentally stabilized plastic will not rot, swell, splinter or delaminate when exposed to humidity or water.
    • Durable matte-textured surface
    King Starlite is the lighter weight cousin to King Starboard ®. The base material HDPE is the same as Starboard, giving you the same proven durability and weather resistance. A blowing agent is added when the material is extruded that allows the material to hold more air. This results in a lighter, less expensive material, that is equally water and weather resistant.

    The major tradeoff is Starlite's cellular edge. While still impervious to water, the edge can collect dirt and become nearly impossible to get clean. For this reason, we generally recommend using King Starboard ® for visible applications. However, for individuals unconcerned with looks, Starlite is an equally functional material available at a discount to Starboard. It is also ideal for hidden applications such as seat cushion substrates and hidden tackle box shells.
